FAQ
When is the earliest I can mow my newly installed lawn?
Sod can be mowed as soon as it needs it. Raise the mower blade to its highest setting for the first few mowings. General rule-of-thumb: do not cut more than one third of the blade to avoid shocking the plant.
Do you offer wholesale pallets?
Yes. We work with commercial businesses frequently. Call for custom pricing.
What is your minimum pallet order?
We sell as little as one pallet. However, the larger the order the more discounts apply.
Any recommendations for mowing new sod?
Maintain sharp mower blades to ensure a clean cut, promote healthy growth, and prevent fungus. Mow only when the grass is dry. Mow often, at a good healthy height of around 2 ½ -3 inches. Mowing at shorter heights will put added stress on the plant and require additional care.
How much should I water the new sod after laying?
Begin watering newly laid sod within 30 minutes of installation. Apply at least 1” of water so that the soil beneath the turf is wet. Ideally 3”-4” of soil beneath the surface should be moist.
Do you sell sod directly to homeowners?
Yes, we do however have minimum orders; one pallet of sod. Call our professionals to determine if we can accommodate your turf needs.
How soon after I buy sod do I need to lay it?
Lay Sod within 48 Hours of delivery.
What time of year is best to install sod?
One of the many advantages of sod is you can successfully install it anytime as the ground is not frozen. As long as it has sufficient water to get it well rooted. Sod especially loves cool temperatures and frequent rain. Summer can be hot and dry; be sure to water deeply and thoroughly in the morning and afternoon on hot days.
May I return the sod if I order too much?
Unfortunately, sod is perishable and cut to order, so we do not accept returns.
